IIM Ahmedadbad New Faculty Office Building

Overlapping roof that allows skylight to enter the structure.

Also seen are cutouts for trees that grow inside the structure.

Roof language is kept the same as the built structure. Even being a temporary structure, the building appears as if it has been and will be there forever.

Aesthetics
The facades of the iconic IIM structure is taken into special consideration while designing the elevations. Exposed brick is utilised on the walls, to set it well along with the existing structures. Other identifiable elements of Louis Kahn, like his famous circular openings, are adopted into the design. This in all make sure that despite being a newer structure, the building doesn’t stand out and blends in.

The rooms and corridors are laid out linearly, with all the activities arranged on both sides of the circulation path, and entry is provided from all the three axes.

Planning is done in order to establish easy access to the different rooms. The office blocks are set out in grids, ensuring easy and fast construction.

View of one of the entry to the structure that shows how it is in unity to the existing structure.
